Welcome to the website dedicated to the Majorcan holiday resort of Sa Coma.

Situated along the north-east coast of Mallorca, approximately 70km from the capital Palma and the islands' Son Sant Joan International airport, Sa Coma is part of the Municipal district of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, and is a popular and busy holiday destinations for both British and European visitors to Majorca.

Sa Coma is a modern purpose built resort that really only started to develop during the mid 1980's to meet the every increasing demand for tourist accommodation. Since then it has continued to grow in a fairly controlled manner by Mallorcan standards, to the point where the resort now offers a good selection of shops bars and restaurants, many of which are either British owned, or targeted towards the British tourist which tend to be in the majority in the town.

Sa Coma does have an exceptionally sandy beach with the usual selection of water sport and beach facilities including windsurfing and pedalos to hire. Behind the beach is a wide traffic free promenade where you will find a wide choice of bars and restaurants which offer local Mallorquin, as well as other Mediterranean and European dishes.

But don't worry you can also get your full English (or Scottish) breakfast, or traditional Sunday lunch with roast beef and Yorkshire pud, and of course a pint of bitter to wash it down.

From Sa Coma a mini train also makes regular runs along the sea front to nearby Cala Millor, here you will find a larger selection of shops, ice cream parlors, restaurants and music bars, and even a couple of discos during high season too.

If you want to see even more of the island, you can always rent a car and find your way to the bays and beautiful villages here on the east coast, such as Porto Cristo and the Caves of Drach, with its amazing stalactite formations.

Returing to Sa Coma, considerable efforts have clearly been made by the local council to maintain "green zones" and extend protection to areas of special environmental interest, the most notable of these being the Punta de n'Amer headland to the north of the resort.

In high summer you can normally expect day time temperatures here of up to 30'C and night time temperatures averaging 20'C. June, July and August offer an average of over ten hours of sunshine a day and a sea temperature of 21 to 25'C.

September is considered a very pleasant month and is often favoured by couples at this time of year. The sea is still warm and the day time average max temp is around 27'C. May and October are often a little cooler, but still offer visitors some glorious sunshine.

Overall the resort of Sa Coma should appeal to most people. With so much to see and do, Sa Coma is considered to be very family friendly, and is especially suitable for those looking for a quieter, more relaxed holiday.

We hope you enjoy your holiday in the area, and we hope that our web site acts as a useful aid to your visit to the resort.
